Santa Cecilia is the highlight of the most important Sicilian grape variety, Nero d’Avola. The long research into finding the best place to produce a great wine from this grape brought to Noto, where the DOC Noto insists that the variety originates, at the southern extremity of Sicily. With its white soils and its ancient vines, this is the epicenter of cultivation for Nero d’Avola.

Santa Cecilia is an expression of elegance, power, balance and eminence of the unique aromas of Sicily, and today is the reference point for red wines produced from indigenous Sicilian grapes. 

Grape Variety: 100% Nero d'Avola

Nose: Opens with a mentholated and herbal freshness, dusty florals, dried violets, sage, and wild Mediterranean scrub (macchia). This is layered with dark fruit aromas like black raspberry, black cherry, plum, and sour citrus notes of bergamot and bitter orange, alongside subtle touches of carob flour and incense.
Palate: Silky, textured, and cheerful with cool-toned red and black fruits (blackberry, blackcurrant, and sour cherry).
Finish: Supported by a zesty, invigorating acidity, dense yet well-calibrated wood tannins, and a persistent, pleasantly bitter, or spicy edge with hints of toasted almonds and grilled aniseed.
