Located on the flanks of Soufriere since the 17th century, the Bologne plantation experienced different types of cultivation until the middle of the 19th century where the monoculture of sugar cane was developed on all its plots. This revolution fully revealed the exceptional richness of this volcanic soil and everyone agreed that the Bologna plantation concentrates on a few tens of hectares the most beautiful rum terroirs, with a very unique potential on the island. In business since 1887, Bologna is the oldest distilleries in Guadeloupe.
Round, balanced, its spicy attack evokes the best of old spirits. The palate is mingled with fruit (orange, exotic fruits), spicy (cinnamon, candied ginger) and floral (honey), stretching gradually towards dried fruits. A slightly salty trade wind breeze refreshes everything: sugar cane rubs with citrus and salted butter caramel. Its fine tannins create a frame both pulpy and clean. Its finish is long and balanced. The retro-olfaction adds even more exoticism (coconut, mango).
