2017 Château Talbot Saint Julien B03 - Bordeaux Red

St Barth’s Wine

Legend has it that the name of this imposing estate of Saint-Julien is attached to that of Connétable Talbot, a famous English man of war, defeated at the Battle of Castillon in 1453. Property within the Cordier estates, the Château Talbot has always been considered the twin brother of the Château Gruaud Larose. Located to the north of the latter, Talbot rubs shoulders with the vines of Léoville Poyferré. Its sweeping contiguous vineyard lies on gravel with a calcareous subsoil.

Blend: 68% Cabernet Sauvignon, 26% Merlot and 6% Petit Verdot.

Medium to deep garnet-purple in color with aromas of cedar, black cherries, mulberries and warm blackcurrants with touches of earth, tree bark and herbs.

The palate is medium-bodied, firm, grainy and muscular with an earthy finish.
