Château Lascombes is a magnificent, romantic château nestled in a carpet of foliage in the heart of the Margaux appellation. It owes its name to its first known owner, the Chevalier Antoine de Lascombes, in the 17th century. It remained in the Lascombes family until the French Revolution, after which it changed hands several times over the years, to the detriment of the quality of its wines and its size.
It was revived at the end of the 20th century, first by Alexis Lichine and then by Dominique Befve, who restored the estate to a very high standard. Acquired by MACSF in 2011, the grand vin of Château Lascombes and its second wine, Chevalier de Lascombes, have regained their former glory.
Blend: 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 47% Merlot, 3% Petit Verdot
Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, the Lascombes has a beautiful nose of Black Forest cake, violet, blackcurrant, and tilled soil with hints of garrigue and potpourri. Medium-bodied, very fine and elegant with great intensity of restrained, earthy flavors, it has a long, savory finish.
