Located on the outskirts of Pauillac, on one of the town’s most beautiful hilltops and overlooking the Gironde estuary, Château Lynch-Bages owes its name partly to the very old hamlet of Bages and partly to the Lynch family,of Irish descent, which looked after the estate’s destiny from the eighteenth century onwards.
Bought by the Cazes family in 1934 and already highly renowned, Lynch Bages took a further step forwards when Jean-Michel Cazes arrived at the helm in 1974. He was to become the tireless ambassador not just for his own wine but for Bordeaux and for the whole French wine industry, traveling worldwide to meet an ever-increasing circle of passionate wine enthusiasts.
Very expressive on aromas of black fruits, blackcurrant with a delicate empyreumatic note linked to the current aging.
The mid-palate has volume, weight on a fine-grained, silky tannic texture, with perfectly well extracted tannins.
The finish has real length and ends in a bath of black fruits. A large Lynch-Bages with serious potential.
