In the Middle Ages, the château of Cantemerle, seat of the jurisdiction of the same name, bordered the Garonne River and made up part of the line of fortifications that defended the banks of the Médoc region, just over half a mile from the present château.

Grape varieties: 58% Cabernet Sauvignon, 29% Merlot,  7% Cabernet Franc, 7% Petit Verdot

Aromas of blackcurrant and kirsch with hints of dried blood orange, licorice, and cocoa. Medium to full-bodied with layers of well-integrated, finely polished tannins.

Structured and vibrant with a fresh, lively palate, fruity, seasoned with spices and dried herbs. Lingering, chalky finish.
