It was Jean Gautreau, a visionary and key figure in the Médoc, who enabled Château Sociando Mallet  to rise to the pinnacle of the Médoc's finest wines in less than fifty years. Starting with a 5-hectare vineyard in a sorry state, he fell in love with the property, becoming its owner in 1969, and was driven to renovate and improve the entire estate.

Grape varieties: 54% Merlot, 42% Cabernet Sauvignon and 4% Cabernet Franc

A Haut-Médoc of great elegance, with a strong emphasis on Merlot.

Its ruby color immediately captivates. The charm continues with a highly complex bouquet, ripe black fruit, vanilla, cedar, floral notes, and a touch of smoke.

Ample, intense, and dense, with a delicious roundness, the palate is supported by silky, fine tannins and lingers in a long, fresh, and clean finish.
