In the Middle Ages, the château of Cantemerle, seat of the jurisdiction of the same name, bordered the Garonne River and made up part of the line of fortifications that defended the banks of the Médoc region, just over half a mile from the present château.

The second wine of Château Cantemerle, 5th Grand Cru Classé in 1855, Les Allées de Cantemerle comes from the young vines of the estate, and benefits from the same care as its elder. 

Grape varieties: 23% Merlot, 74% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Petit Verdot

The wine is brilliantly colored, the bouquet persistent, the body supple and vigorous.

Such refinement in fruit aromas is rare. It can be enjoyed very young, when charm and fruit dominate, blending with the vanilla notes imparted by the barrels in which it matured. 

This wine is then perfect for the modern consumer who appreciates fresh tannins. It can also be enjoyed very old, when it displays impeccable poise, understated elegance, and incomparable aromas. In this way, it resembles the rare wines in the world that can age for decades.
