Tal Pelter grew up on his father’s farm in Israel, which his father had founded in 1970 after emigrating from the USA. After studying winemaking in Australia, Tal returned to his homeland to found Pelter Winery in 2005 with his brother Nir, in the Golan Heights. In 2012, the two brothers were inspired to begin a brand-new project, Matar, which crafts top-quality kosher wines from fruit sourced from Israel’s top terroirs.

This elegant kosher white is a blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon, which interprets this classic Bordeaux-style composition with distinctive Israeli flair. The grapes are harvested by hand from selected vineyards in the Golan Heights and Upper Galilee. The wine is then aged in the tanks for 3 months before bottling, to preserve ample acidity and aromatics.

Crisp lemon, stone fruit and subtle hints of white flowers define the nose while the first sip reveals a refreshing acidity, light body and elegant finish.

The graceful flavour profile makes it very easy to drink as a vibrant aperitif or partner for pan-fried fish, fresh seafood, sushi, leafy salads, or spicy Asian dishes.
