This unique and rare liqueur is based on a mid-19th-century French recipe and is made only in micro-batches by Swiss distiller Oliver Matter for Tempus Fugit Spirits. The protocol uses the finest French violets, traditionally hand-harvested in the sunny and historic Côte d'Azur, along with the Mediterranean Sea, among the myriad of precious flowers cultivated in the region for the world's finest perfumes.
Nose: fine, subtle. At first, the violet reveals with delicacy its heady perfumes. Near her are blueberries and blackcurrants. Behind, we distinguish from blackberry to blackberries and finely woody notes (pine). It evolves into the candied violet.
Palate: both lively and round. Held by a fruity acidity, it is obviously floral (violet, rose petal), but also marked by dried fruits (almond, apricot). Rather air, its sugars do not weigh on the palate, they simply coat with a fine anise flavor.
Overall: long, cool. She wins in greed. The violets are bathed in delicious honey -acacia, orange blossom. As and when their perfumes embellish the tasting area. The retro-olfaction is floral, fruity (blackcurrant, pomegranate) and cocoa. The empty glass is essentially floral and grassy.
