Rémy Martin was founded in 1724 and specialized in producing the highest quality Fine Champagne Cognacs. This means that they only select grapes from the two finest crus of the Cognac region – Grande Champagne and Petite Champagne. They use the traditional double distillation technique which involves a subtle contact between liquid and copper. Rémy Martin never uses stills larger than 25 hectolitres to ensure that the heat is more evenly distributed. They also only use specially crafted Limousin oak barrels, made from a wood renowned for the rich vanilla-like flavor it imparts to Cognac. Louis XIII from Rémy Martin is a magical combination of savoir-faire, art and patience. This Cognac is a blend of Eaux-de-vie, some more than a century in age, then aged in individual cellars in Tierçons – barrels that are several hundred years old.
The aromatic nose brims with notes of exotic candied fruits that give way to the floral delicacy and a perfect marriage of fruits, flowers and spices on the palate. The finish is extremely long, leaving you with notes of jasmine, saffron and cigar box. Handcrafted Baccarat decanter.
