The Côte-Rotie vineyard is certainly one of the oldest in existence in the Rhône valley: Vienne wines were already highly reputed by Rome as far back as one century B.C. An old fondly, told the legend, belonging to Côte-Rotie related the story of the seigneur de Maugiron who has two daughters, one blond and the other dark-haired, bequeathed a hillside to each one of them. And thus were born the names of Côte-Blonde and Côte-Brune.
Established in the Rhone Valley since 1808, the Chapoutier family has become an iconic figure. Since the end of the 90s, Michel Chapoutier took over the reins of the family business, valuing bio - dynamism to better reveal the fruit and the character of the terroirs. The meticulous work of his teams resulted in mineral wines, straight and energetic, in which the passage of years can only reveal more. There is no doubt that Michel Chapoutier has dramatically increased the quality of his wines while developing his trading house that thrives on investments in Roussillon, Provence and in Australia.
