Chateauneuf's history is extremely dense. One of the most important periods to retain goes back to the time when the Popes had their residence in Avignon in the 15th Century. The village of Chateauneuf-du-Pape was at that time the papal summer residence and they succeeded in imposing its wines.
Focused, with a solid core of red currant and raspberry fruit lined with brambly tannins and backed by dried anise and lavender notes. It has a lot of fitness and strength with spicy aromas developing into the leather. A light echo of warm stone runs through the finish.
