2011 Hermitage Le Chevalier de Stérimberg Jaboulet Aîné Rhône Valley White

St Barth’s Wine

The little chapel of Saint-Christophe is situated at the top of the hillside. It was built in 1235 by the knight Gaspard de Stérimberg after he gained the permission of the White Queen of Castille to establish his hermitage on this hill after being injured during the Albigensian crusade of 1224.

Maison Jaboulet has hundreds of hectares of vineyards carefully worked in the rules of the art. Yields are controlled and ancestral methods are still practiced. The company, through sustainable agriculture certification, limits soil weedkillers and promotes organic fertilizers so that the vines benefit from a natural and varied diet.

The Hermitage Chevalier de Sterimberg, it's a blend of 70% Marsanne and 30% Roussanne that was aged in a combination of oak casks and concrete eggs.

Made in a fresh, laser-focused, tight style, its terrific perfume of buttered citrus, honeysuckle, tangerine and flower oil is followed by a medium to full-bodied, crisp.

The nose is both rich and complex, the wine developing beautiful aromas of pear and honey.

In the mouth, the power does not detract from the finesse, on the contrary, the wine reveals a beautiful elegance.
