The production area of Coppa is within the territory in the Province of Piacenza, in the Emilia-Romagna region, situated up to 900 meters above sea level. 

When recently made, coppa is soft, but it hardens with the months. When sliced, coppa is a bright red with fine marbling of soft and delicious fat.
