The magnificent story of Martha’s Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon began in 1965 and continues unfolding today. The historic handshake deal between the Heitz family and the May family, who own Martha’s Vineyard, made Cabernet Sauvignon history! The cherished relationship between the families now spans three generations. Martha's Vineyard is 34 gently sloping acres on the western side of the Napa Valley just south of Oakville. This verdant niche near the Mayacamas foothills soaks up the morning sun and then cools down a bit earlier than the valley floor.
The 2009 Martha’s Vineyard is an impressive wine with remarkable clarity and depth of flavor. On the palate, layers of complexity show an opulence of fruit, smoothly integrated with the core tannins of a slightly cooler growing season. This is a beautifully focused wine with textbook varietal character.
