2014 Bentus Marques del Puerto Rioja Spain Red

St Barth’s Wine

Bodegas Marqués del Puerto is located in the Rioja Alta Region, in Fuenmayor, 11 km from Logroño. Built in the 70s, the winery consists of a number of buildings in traditional style, rising above the vineyards. A scene giving the brand its own identity. The winery is the heart of Marqués del Puerto and is what gives the wines their own character and personality. Bentus was the first wine within the Private Collection of Marqués del Puerto and represents a new flair within our winery. Elaborated with 80% of selected Tempranillo grapes and a 20% of Garnacha, Mazuelo and Graciano, a courage leading to a considerable aromatic complexity. 16 months of aging in mainly French oak model this structured and fruity wine.

The wine possesses a dark and deep cherry red color. In its aroma, mainly the aroma of black fruits and licorice and cocoa notes, stand out, allowing sensing the new oak with seasoned hints. Its entry into the mouth is wide and corpulent, of mature tannins. Long persistence.
