2019 Sancerre La Bourgeoise Dom Henri Bourgeois G01 - Loire Valley White

St Barth’s Wine

The Famille Bourgeois has been in love with Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc for 11th generation. The domain covers 72 hectares on the best Terroir of Sancerre and Pouilly-Fumé appellations. Brought to fruition by Henri Bourgeois over 50 years ago, the vineyards lie on some of the most rugged hillside terrains, offering the best exposures in the Loire Valley.

La Bourgeoise White is made from old Sauvignon vines growing on flinty slopes. Historically, the names of the plots giving this wine, first worked by the monks of Saint-Satur, were warmly called “ Les Bourgeoises " ( The Bourgeois ). That is why, in the eighties, this name was given to the new cuvee made from these selected plots. Flinty soils give wines with great minerality, intensity and excellent aging potential.

This wine with its gun-flint aromas and the spicy bouquet is subtly wooded, rich in fruit, full-bodied, well balanced, and very reminiscent of the Sauvignon flower and grape.

The richness and intensity of the flavor linger long and harmoniously on the palate.

This prestigious selection has excellent bottle maturation potential and will continue to evolve for 10 to 12 years.
