2019 Corton Charlemagne Bonneau du Martray Magnum 1.5L C02 - Burgundy White
St Barth’s Wine
The Holy Roman Emperor, Charlemagne, appreciated wine and promoted moderate consumption. He pushed his administrators to set up precise rules for the production and maintenance of quality viticulture for the benefit of all. He required his overseers to apply innovative methods and techniques in the vineyard and in the cellars.
The hill of Corton, an escarpment topped with a forest, overlooks the Grand Cru vineyard of Corton and the town of Aloxe-Corton in the Côte de Beaune.
Bouquet of crisp green apple, pears, almond paste, fresh pastry and Meyer lemon.
On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, concentrated and precise, with serious depth, tangy acidity, and chewy structuring dry extract while remaining elegantly textural.
Spicy, pithy and refreshing, with understated oak and a chiseled, mineral-edged finish.
