2018 Richebourg Grand Cru Anne-Françoise Gros C02 - Burgundy Red
St Barth’s Wine
Domaine Anne-Françoise Gros is an estate located in Burgundy, in Pommard, which was founded by Anne-Françoise Gros in 1988.
François Parent, originally from Pommard, is Anne-Françoise's husband. He has been the winemaker of Domaine's wines since its creation. Its know-how and reputation are recognized worldwide and its wines are a perfect expression of Pinot Noir, a unique combination of elegance and depth.
Today, two of their three children work on the Estate, Caroline and Mathias. One brother and sister share the wine-making, and the other the management, development and marketing of the Domaine's wines.
Richebourg is one of the six grand cru sites in the hallowed village of Vosne-Romanée, in Burgundy's Côte de Nuits. It is one of the larger sites in the village and is famous for its full-bodied, muscular style of Pinot Noir.
Richebourg wines are in fact some of the most opulent from Vosne-Romanée, exhibiting earthy characters along with dense fruit, and they are capable of being cellared for many years.
Ruby red, minerally red berry fruit, dried flowers and just a hint of warm gravel in the background. It gains intensity in the glass.
The palate is medium-bodied with supple, ripe tannin. The acidity is very well judged and there is a creamy texture lending harmony to this Richebourg.
