2018 Blanc Fumé de Pouilly Barre à Mine Michel Redde & Fils - Loire Valley White

St Barth’s Wine

Since 2009, a titanic and unique work is realized in a former career of flint, called "Les Champs des Froids" situated on the municipality of Tracy-sur-Loire.
The splendidly exposed plot of land southwest requires important works of clearing, of stall and plantation.

Contrary to a "classic" preparation, this one is realized by means of a big shovel of career, for stall the blocks of monumental flints were called "cuirasses". A company specialized to blow up them to return this exploitable plot of land mechanically.

At present 4,5 ha are planted and all the plantation was realized in the crowbar, and not in the pickaxe as usually, in the 10 000 foot/ha density in selection massale. That is why, by all this colossal work, the name of this new and exceptional country of the Appellation is called Barre à Mine (Crowbar).

Honey, grass, light florals and lemon zest on the nose.

The palate is gorgeous with saline, lime, yellow stone fruit namely nectarine and an obvious minerality to be expected from this one.
