The Marchand estate has been in existence for over seven generations in Morey-St-Denis. In 1983 it was extended with the purchase of an old winegrower’s house right in the heart of Gevrey-Chambertin.
The present building was erected in the 18 th century above a cellar in which the owner used to mature the wines he produced and kept them in bottles.
Medium ruby. Attractive nose. Roses, raspberry, leather, mushroom all intertwined to present a sturdy yet super fresh, umami, earthy body. A whiff of smoke makes this an excellent pair with lighter meat dishes.
On the palate, red currant, rosemary and white pepper and mint sum up to a long finish with very smooth tannins.
