In 1969, in search of a wine estate for sale for one of his Belgian customers, he discovered Sociando-Mallet in the commune of Saint-Seurin-de-Cadourne. It has a real love at first sight for this property, however in a sorry state, but offering a magnificent panorama on the estuary of the Gironde. He therefore immediately decides to buy it for himself, and against the sum of 250,000 French Francs.
The Demoiselle de Sociando-Mallet is produced from the younger vines of the property and the plots whose soil is more favorable to the production of very good Merlot. Blending: 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 50% Merlot
Plenty of dark, toasty oak spices and meaty barrel-ferment characters. The palate has a slightly greenish thread with flavors of wild raspberries and mulberries. Drink or hold.
