In 1871, the Nicolas family acquired La Conseillante, whose surface area (12 hectares/30 acres) and vineyard plots have remained the same since that time, which is a unique achievement. In 1960, Louis Nicolas’ heirs formed the Société Civile des Héritiers Nicolas company. Blend: 80% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc
Purplish in ink, the dress is very dense. The nose shows a lot of subtlety on very fresh aromas of burlat cherry, crushed blackberry and pine forest, giving it an unexpected "southern" character.
On the palate, is suave, of a good nervousness, leaving little by little a mid-palate enveloped on elegant tannins, with a juicy and creamy character. The retro-olfaction is bathed in black fruit, reminiscent of the palette detected on the nose.
The whole is very balanced. A particularly brilliant Pomerol in this terroir vintage.
