This Grand Cru appellation, the largest, is produced in the three villages of Aloxe Corton, Pernand Vergelesses and Ladoix Serrigny, forming the hillock of Corton. The geological differences combined with the different exposures give rich, fatty wines, marked by minerality and the crystalline side.
Here, two limestone origins of the Oxfordian period are superimposed, forcing the roots of the vine to draw the essential elements that give the particular taste of this terroir. The cuvée is produced from a few parcels located in the 3 villages. Corton-Charlemagne is named after the emperor Charlemagne, who was the owner of this vineyard.
Great finesse, its bouquet is complex: mineral fragrances, pear, spices.
On the palate, the attack is fresh and mineral structured with a fine length in the mouth. A wine of great class to savor within a few years.
