The Château Sociando-Mallet is located in Saint-Seurin-de-Cadourne in the Haut-Médoc Appellation. It was bought by the Sossiondo family in 1633 and became "Sociando" afterward because of a spelling mistake. Since 1969, Jean Gautreau is at the head of the Cru Bourgeois.
The Sociando has an intense blackberry and briary scented nose touches of black plum and a hint of fruitcake. The palate is immediately enjoyable very well balanced, finer tannins than expected, delineated and focused with some lovely black, tar/cedar fruit towards the finish. Good length and precision.
