The Gosset family has been established in Aÿ, Grand Cru de Champagne since the 16th century. For 16 generations, Maison Gosset has perpetuated excellence, the guardian of which today is Odilon de Varine, cellar master and deputy general manager of the house. The house's champagnes are recognizable in particular by the shape of their bottle, a legacy of the “antique” bottles used in the 18th century.
This Celebris Vintage Extra Brut 2007 from Gosset is made from a blend of Chardonnay 57% and Pinot Noir 43%.
A graceful Champagne, showing a sense of finesse to the detailed intersection of bright, buoyant acidity and chalky minerality, with a fine, satiny mousse and flavors of ripe Asian pear, dried white cherry, salted almond, lemon curd and crystallized honey. Long and mouthwatering on the creamy finish, echoing spice and saline notes.
