One of the oldest Medoc estates, Domaine de Léoville belonged to some of the wealthiest and most influential noble French families before it was acquired by the Las Cases family.
Until the 1830s, the Léoville estate, between the vineyards of Beychevelle and Latour, was one of the oldest but also one of the most extensive vintages in the Médoc. It was therefore following the French Revolution that the latter was divided into three: Château Léoville Las Cases, Château Léoville Barton and Château Léoville Poyferré. A blend of 74% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot and 11% Cabernet Franc,
Dense purple color, gorgeous minerality, plenty of blueberry and blackcurrant fruit that is super-pure, medium body and firm structured, slightly austere personality. This wine is built for the long-term. It has depth and richness, but also a boatload of tannin.
