In 1995, Robert Mondavi of California and Vittorio Frescobaldi of Tuscany joined hands to create an Italian wine of extraordinary quality. Their partnership was the first of its kind in Italy, and their premier offering was Luce della Vite. The name means light of the vine in Italian and was inspired by the morning sunlight on the way from Florence to the renowned winemaking region of Montalcino.
Lucente is Luce’s second wine. It’s the result of a selection of Sangiovese and Merlot grapes capable of producing a wine that stands out thanks to its immediacy and pleasantness, in a contemporary style. It’s the perfect representation of the unique territory where it is produced. The wine matures for 12 months in barriques inside Tenuta Luce’s cellar before bottling.
Displays a vibrant purple-red color. It's rich, intense bouquet releases black cherry and wild berry, enriched with fascinating notes of pungent spice.
The palate is smooth, with fine-grained tannins and an underlying impression of crisp balsam. Overall, this wine is complex, forceful, and elegant.
